Job Summary:

With so much attention on the subject of substance abuse, behavioral and mental health care nationally, we're really on the forefront of the organizations who are transforming the way we prevent, treat and assist our community with recovery from these illnesses. Our staff work with the most severe and most in-need populations in Milwaukee County - allowing them to gain exposure to treatment practices they'll draw from their entire careers.

We currently have openings for part-time and full-time CNA's on 2nd and 3rd shift ONLY. Positions are required to work rotating weekends and are assigned specific holidays to work each year.

Job Summary: Provides basic nursing care and completes assignments under the direction of the RN.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Completes patient care and unit assignments as delegated by the RN.
  2. Adheres to policies and procedures related to the care of patients.
  3. Documents appropriate information related to patient care.
  4. Escorts patients to off-unit activities, appointments and other facilities as needed.
  5. Provides enhanced observation to individual patients.
  6. Participates with RN in conducting group activities with patients.
  7. Communicates with RN and members of healthcare team regarding patient change in condition. 

Special Instructions to Applicants:

This Original Examination is open to qualified internal and external candidates of the State of Wisconsin. In accordance with Rule III, Section 12 of the Civil Service Rules, a noncompetitive examination will be held for this position.The non-competitive examination will consist of criteria deemed appropriate by the Director of Human Resources to rank applicants on the eligible list for this position.

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Education & Years of Experience:

  • Graduation from High School or G.E.D equivalency diploma required.
  • Federal and State C.N.A. certification at time of application and must be maintained during incumbency.
  • Must have the ability to lift/carry up to 25lbs and push/pull up to 250lbs on a regular basis.
