Airport Worker Seasonal

Position Type: Seasonal, Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Department: General Mitchell International Airport

Compensation Range: $18.32
Closing Date: Open until filled

Under direct supervision to perform a variety of unskilled or semi-skilled tasks in the care and maintenance of buildings, grounds, equipment, fixtures and facilities at Milwaukee County owned and operated airports; to operate and maintain power and construction equipment, trucks, jeeps, sweepers, tractors with attachments, snow removal equipment; and other vehicles over 25,000 GVW; to assist skilled tradesmen and other maintenance personnel; and to perform other such duties as may be assigned. 

 

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or G.E.D equivalent. A valid Wisconsin driver's license required and must be maintained throughout incumbency. The ability to push, pull and lift up to 60lbs is also required.  Experience Operating a wide variety of  vehicles and equipment preferred. Possession of a CDL Class B with no airbrake restriction preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of and ability to operate various equipment. Ability to match snow implements to vehicles and equipment. Must be able to work any shift, any day of the week twenty four (24) hours, seven (7) days a week. Up to twelve (12) hour shifts may be expected. Duties: Under general supervision, to operate Airport snow removal equipment during snow events, to perform other duties as may be assigned.
