Network Security Engineer

Job Summary - The Network Security Engineer will be responsible for implementation, administration, and maintenance of network security hardware and software, develop procedures, policies, and configuration guidelines for County’s LAN, WLAN, and WAN to align Network Security best practices. Ensure compliance with internal/external security audits and recommendations. This position will provide hands-on technical leadership and will manage simple and enterprise-wide Network Security related projects from initiation to completion for the voice, video, and data infrastructure. The Network Security Engineer will partner with leaders in IMSD and other business units/operational areas to define requirements, develop security policies and procedures, and secure the network infrastructure to meet present and future business needs. Essential Responsibilities:
Implementation, administration, and maintenance of network security hardware and software.
Monitor and Maintain the County’s Firewalls
Develop procedures, policies, and configuration guidelines for County’s LAN, WLAN, and WAN to align Network Security best practices
Perform work outside of normal business hours, related but not limited to on-call incident escalation and off-hours maintenance work.
Coordinate and implement low to high risk Network Security changes to mission critical functional areas according to ITIL framework.
Ensure compliance with internal/external security audits and recommendations.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in IT or a closely related field CCNA Security or Palo Alto PCNSAFive years of IT related experience Valid driver’s license and access to an insured reliable vehicle Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50lbs
