Airport Seasonal Worker (snow removal)

Position Type:  Full - Time, Hourly

Department:  5040 - Airport

Compensation Range: $19.07 hourly
Closing Date:  Open until filled.

Job Duties: Under general supervision, after completing initial training, work shifts as needed during snow events to perform snow removal tasks on terminal ramps., to perform other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current resident of the State of Wisconsin.

  • A valid Wisconsin Driver’s license at time of hire and maintained throughout employment. 

  • Obtain an Airport Class 2 License (7) days after appointment. 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • One (1) year of experience driving trucks and/or operating construction equipment.

  • Must be able to work any shift, any day of the week twenty-four (24) hours, seven (7) days a week. Up to twelve (12) hour shifts may be expected.

  • The ability to lift/carry up to 60lbs; push/pull up to 60lbs. on a regular basis.

Preferred Experience: Possession of a valid Wisconsin Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B (No Airbrake restriction) preferred.

Physical Requirements/Demands: Physical ability to climb into/out of vehicles and equipment. Ability to operate equipment for long periods of time.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of and ability to operate various equipment. Ability to match snow implements to vehicles and equipment. Contact with employees or others primarily at a routine level involving basic information exchange.  No contact with people outside the organization.  Read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.  Requires minimal decision-making responsibility.  Work of a relatively routine nature.  Requires the ability to understand and follow instructions.
