Airport Worker - Seasonal

Position Type: Full-Time, Seasonal

Department:  5040-Airport

Compensation Range: $18.50 per hour
Closing Date:  Open until filled

Job Summary:  After completing initial training, work shifts as needed during snow events to perform snow removal tasks on terminal ramps. 

Duties: Under general supervision, to operate Airport snow removal equipment during snow events, to perform other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or GED.

Experience: Driving trucks and/or operating construction equipment preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of and ability to operate various equipment. Ability to match snow implements to vehicles and equipment. Must be able to work any shift, any day of the week twenty four (24) hours, seven (7) days a week. Up to twelve (12) hour shifts may be expected.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Possession of a Wisconsin
Class 'D' Driver's License at time of application. Airport Class 2 License (7)
days after appointment. Possession of a valid Wisconsin Commercial Driver's
License (CDL) Class B (No Airbrake restriction) preferred.

Physical Requirements/Demands: Physical ability to climb into/out
of vehicles and equipment. Ability to operate equipment for long periods of
time.

 

Special Instructions: This original examination is open to qualified internal and external candidates of the State of Wisconsin.  In accordance with Rule lll Section 12 of the Civil Service Rules a non-competitive examination will be held for this position.  The con-competitive examination will consist of criteria deemed appropriate by the Director of Human Resources to rank applicants on the eligible list for this position.
